| Introduction Revision rhinoplasty has always been a challenge for the nasal surgeon. Many experienced surgeons view revision rhinoplasty with such anxiety that they either refuse to perform this procedure or do it with a great deal of reluctance. The surgeon accustomed to a high level of predictability in his results in primary rhinoplasty is often uncomfortable due to his lack of control in secondary procedures. The challenges encountered in revision surgery are often different from those of primary surgery. As a result, the surgeon must employ different solutions if he hopes to improve his results. In this presentation, I explore the challenges of revision surgery and the reason open rhinoplasty provides an improved approach to meeting these challenges.
