Liposuction New Jersey
This procedure allows for contouring of the body to achieve a beautiful and natural form by selectively suctioning out excess fatty deposits. Melding science and art, we always consider how the treated area gracefully transitions to nearby areas of the body.
Liposuction works well on the hips, saddlebags, love handles, inner and outer thighs, abdominal pouch, and arms. Patients who benefit include individuals who despite a devotion to regular fitness workouts are unable to rid themselves of small, localized pockets of body fat. It can also benefit heavier individuals who are unsuccessful dieters and may provide the incentive to adopt a sound diet and exercise program. Patients range in age from 18-year-olds to people well over 65.The procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure with light sedation in our fully accredited surgery suite.
Additional Liposuction Information
Depending upon the size of the area being treated, the procedure can take one to two hours or more to perform. There are many different techniques for liposuction, including the tumescent technique and ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL). However, most techniques will still include the traditional approach which is as follows: A narrow tube called a cannula is inserted through a tiny incision into the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula is manipulated to break up the fat which is then suctioned out.
After liposuction, bruising and swelling may occur. Patients may also experience some temporary numbness, soreness and/or a burning sensation. Most patients are able to return to work and other normal activities within one to two weeks, though more strenuous activities will need to be postponed for two to four weeks. The results of lipo can be permanent with sensible diet and exercise. |
