New Jersey Facial Plastic Surgeon
A prolific writer on medical issues, Dr. Glasgold is the author of a textbook called Application of Biomaterials in Facial Plastic Surgery. His by-line also appears in multiple facial plastic surgery textbook chapters, and 33 of his articles are in medical publications. Dr. Glasgold has served as Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, for 25 years. In addition, he is an attending physician at both St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick, NJ, and the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City. Among his academic positions, he is a clinical professor of surgery at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and he was a Resident Instructor of Facial Plastic Surgery at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital for a decade. For the past 10 years he has also served as a director of a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship Program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, training many promising new facial plastic surgeons in the nation. He was a board examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Glasgold is triple board-certified, holding certifications from the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery; the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery; and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. • American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery • American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery • American Society of Head and Neck Surgery He served as President of the Board of Directors of the Facial Plastic Surgery Information Service, an arm of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was on the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and was the founder and chairman of the New Jersey Facial Plastic Surgery Society. Dr. Glasgold is the recipient of the Honor Award for his educational services to the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and received the Merit Award for his contributions to facial plastic surgery from the New Jersey Academy of Otolaryngology. After graduating from New York Medical College, he interned at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City. A residency at Bronx Veteran's Hospital and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons followed. He then served in the U.S. Air Force at the Air War College in Montgomery Alabama. Over the years he has frequently lectured and taught courses that demonstrate various different approaches to facial plastic surgery techniques, some of which he is credited with perfecting. In fact, he was the course director of External Rhinoplasty for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Glasgold resides in Highland Park, New Jersey, with his wife, Joyce. In addition to their sons, Mark and Robert, the couple also has a daughter, Ellen Lange, a licensed aesthetician and President of Ellen Lange Skin Care, located in Highland Park, NJ. Among Dr. Glasgold's favorite pastimes are reading, sailing, exercising, traveling, and enjoying his family which includes five grandchildren. His interests extend to the arts as well. He was on the Board of Overseers of the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In addition, Dr. and Mrs. Glasgold established The Glasgold Family Foundation which supports the arts, education, and medical research. |
