Blepharoplasty (Eyes) | Endoscopic Browlift
Expressive eyes are an important aspect of facial beauty. Frequently it is also where the earliest signs of an aging face occur. Our aim with eyelid surgery new jersey is to recapture more youthful eyes that help rejuvenate your entire face, restoring their natural beauty by removing excess skin and fat. In some cases, adding fullness to hollow lower lids will mask dark circles caused, not by skin pigmentation, but by shadows.
Natural Face Rejuvenation
The Upper Lid Blepharoplasty
This eyelid surgery procedure primarily addresses the hooding of the upper eyelid that causes some people to always look tired or weary. The upper lid blepharoplasty is one of the most routine of all of the cosmetic facial procedures. In most cases the only anesthetic needed is a local or light IV sedation. Patients typically report little post-operative discomfort, and many are back to themselves in less than a week since this procedure produces a minimal amount of bruising and swelling. During the procedure, which is done in our office operating suite, upper lid sagging skin is removed through a concealed incision made in the fold of the eyelid. Immediately afterwards patients return home. This surgery does not require wearing any post-surgical dressings or other encumbrances. Once healed the incisions are difficult if not impossible to see.
Upper Eyelid Rejuvenation
The Lower Lid Blepharoplasty
Dark circles under the eyes caused by bulging fat or deep hollows are often a concern that cannot be remedied by creams or makeup. “As we age, we develop hollows in the orbital rim,” explains Dr. Glasgold. “As a result, the disparity between the lower eyelid and cheek creates shadows that present as fatigue or aging.” The Glasgold Group has developed a unique approach to the rejuvenation of the lower-lid area that avoids the pitfalls of traditional lower-lid surgery.
“Traditional lower-lid blepharoplasty with an incision can hollow out the aging eyes, making them look older. The removal of skin often results in an unnatural roundness, creating a sad-eyed appearance,” explains Dr. Glasgold. The Glasgold Group performs lower-lid blepharoplasty, often in combination with subtle use of fat transfer or fillers to restores the unified contours of the midface with remarkably natural and durable results. “The goal of a rejuvenation procedure is to restore unity to the midface. We do this by adding volume to the orbital rim, either with fat or Restylane®, and often conservatively removing the bulging fat of the lower eyelid through a small incision inside the lower lid. This produces a completely natural result.”
“The Glasgold Group’s comprehensive approach to eyelid surgery has led to a significant difference between our results and others,” Dr. Glasgold says. Like upper-lid surgery, these procedures are performed in The Glasgold Group’s operating suite under local anesthetic or light sedation.
