We at The Glasgold Group look forward to our first meeting with you.
Two Generations of Facial Plastic Surgeons
When you walk into our waiting room and you will find patients from New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, across the country, and abroad.
One reason: Our reputation for producing the results patients want. We are committed to our patients’ satisfaction. Surgical skill, accessibility, and down to earth qualities all play a part in helping patients reach their aesthetic goals.
When you live in the community in which you work there’s that additional impetus, challenging you to go one step beyond your very best.
At The Glasgold Group we treat our patients the way we would like to be treated ourselves. When you make an appointment you will be greeted in a professional, courteous manner. Our staff has been with us for years and we consider them to be members of our extended family. They were chosen for their ability to create an optimal level of patient care that ensures a comfortable and satisfying experience. Our patients are our biggest source of referrals and how the majority of our new patients find us.
We also realize that the prospect of surgery, even when it’s elective, carries a certain amount of stress. That’s why we encourage you to make an appointment for a consultation where all your questions and concerns can be addressed. Together, informed decisions can be made about your surgical readiness at this time or whether you might benefit from other facial refresher techniques in the meantime. Not intimidated and feeling completely at ease, you’re more likely to ask all of your questions and be able to fully digest the answers allowing you to make an informed decision.
The Glasgold Group brings a unique, aesthetic approach to the practice of facial plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures. Our goal is to produce the most natural and enduring results without the dreaded “done” look that often characterizes some of the most common procedures. We set high standards for the care and results we deliver so that your expectations are met or exceeded.
We do this by avoiding “one-size-fits-all” solutions and quick fixes. We pride ourselves in achieving the highest levels of patient satisfaction by applying our approach to evaluating and treating each patient’s distinctive situation.
Whether you are seeking New Jersey plastic surgery procedures including rhinoplasty, a facelift, eyelid surgery or other procedures to diminish the signs of aging or address the contours of your facial features, you deserve to be treated as an individual.
Our Approach to Facial Rejuvenation
The Glasgold Group’s unique philosophy of aging helps to guide each patient’s individual course of care.
“Our approach to facial rejuvenation emphasizes a unique way of evaluating and treating the signs of aging. As a result, we are able to offer more effective, aesthetically desirable options to our patients,” says Dr. Robert Glasgold.
While most patients focus on the wrinkles and smile lines they see in a mirror, Dr. Glasgold will evaluate your face in a different way.
“When I meet with a patient, I look for shadows,” Dr. Mark Glasgold explains. “The youthful face is primarily distinguished by its highlights, but an aging face is dominated by shadows. If we can identify the shadows, then we can change that shadow to a highlight by filling in the hollow causing it. The subtlety of this approach allows us to avoid overfilled results”
In the initial consultation, patients are encouraged to bring their youthful, non-smiling photos to examine with the doctor. Digital photos of the patient are taken in the office and examined together.
“I do not use a mirror in the consultation, but instead use photos to help the patient understand how his or her face looks to the world from a conversational distance. By looking at photographs of a person aging, we can often identify the specific loss of volume that is unique to each face,” Dr. Glasgold says.
He will recommend the best options to address the loss of volume in order to lessen or eradicate the hollows that accentuate aging.
Traditional surgical techniques for facelifts, eyelid surgery and brow lifts, emphasize pulling and lifting tissues and removing fat without addressing the hollows caused by volume loss.
“Unfortunately, these procedures often result in a ‘done’ look or the perception of bad plastic surgery,” he says. “We aim for a result that is youthful and natural. This cannot be accomplished by trying to eradicate facial lines and wrinkles.”
By blending traditional lifting procedures such as facelifts with volume replacement, The Glasgold Group is able to offer the most natural and durable results to our patients.
The Glasgold Group approach to facial rejuvenation is applied to surgical and non-surgical options, including facelifts, upper and lower eyelid surgery, fat transfer, injectables and other procedures. See more details about our other procedures.
“Bad results are the product of not understanding the aging process and how to recreate a youthful appearance,” explains Dr. Mark. “I promise patients they will not look ‘done’.”
Our Approach to Healing
Our goal for healing after cosmetic surgery is to get our patients back to functioning as quickly as possible with as little discomfort as possible. We do not use any type of head wraps or dressings or drains after facial rejuvenation surgery including facelifts. Patients having facial rejuvenation surgeries can often resume exercising in less than a week and we believe that early activity helps bring down swelling.
We believe that nontraditional approaches offer the most benefit for reducing bruising and swelling. Our patients are treated before, during and after their surgery with homeopathic remedies such as arnica and our own proprietary herbal cream.
Our fat grafting patients are benefitting from PureGraft™ fat processing which we believe to be the most important advance in this procedure. PureGraft™ is a device which filters the fat removing all of the inflammatory cells and free fatty acids which cause much of the prolonged swelling and inconsistent results we have seen with other processes such as centrifugation.
