Mark Glasgold, MD, FACS, a board-certified facial New Jersey plastic surgeon, and a principal in The Glasgold Group Plastic Surgery, is an internationally recognized expert in the rejuvenation of the aging face, specifically the facelift and facial fat transfer.  Dr. Glasgold is a frequent lecturer on facial fat transfer and plastic surgery throughout the country. In fact, he led the first Facial Fat Transfer Workshop at the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery’s 40th anniversary meeting in September, 2004. This historic event brought together the major authorities on fat transfer for the first time.  A sought after lecturer on the aging face at medical conferences at the national level, Dr. Glasgold also has distinguished himself as a medical author, writing a plethora of chapters and articles on facial plastic surgery. He is also a contributing editor the text, Biomaterials in Facial Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Glasgold is an alumnus of Duke University in Durham, NC, where he received a Bachelor of Arts. Long influenced by his father Alvin’s enthusiasm for the profession of medicine, he then went on to Thomas Jefferson Medical School, in Philadelphia, PA where he received his M.D.  In 1994 he received a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey, where he also did a residency in general surgery, followed by a residency in head and neck surgery at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the New York Hospital, and Cornell University, all in Manhattan. He then did a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under the auspices of the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).

For the past 10 years Dr. Glasgold has practiced at the Glasgold Group Plastic Surgery, and is an attending physician at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, in New Brunswick, NJ, and the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City. He is also a clinical assistant professor of surgery at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In addition, he served as a resident instructor at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Currently he is a co-director of the Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship Program of AAFPRS.

Dr. Glasgold is board-certified in facial plastic surgery by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and in head and neck surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow in these professional organizations:

He has an active voice in many of these organizations, serving on the New Technologies and Devices Committee and the Regulatory and Socioeconomic Affairs Committee of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery; the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Finance and Budget Committee of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery; and is on the Advisory Board of Ethicon Pharmaceuticals.
