He skillfully positions two injections of a synthetic material under each eyelid. Within 15 minutes the procedure is complete and the patient can leave the office. “By filling in the hollow, the fat pad and the accompanying bulging seems to disappear,” he says. A topical numbing agent rather than an anesthetic is used, and because the filler material is manufactured from a mineral found in bone and teeth, there’s no need for allergy testing. Results can last up to a year and half.
