Photofacial IPL
Photo Rejuvenation was designed to combat skin damage in a softer, gentler way. Advanced, intense, pulsed light and fluorescent pulsed light systems are the latest innovations in non-ablative cosmetic skin rejuvenation. We use our advanced light systems to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin by efficiently treating redness, flushing, pigmentary problems, scars and wrinkles; to provide you with smoother, healthier, younger-looking skin.
Photo Rejuvenation systems deliver pulses of intense light, through very specific filters, to the skin. Once delivered, the targeted tissue absorbs the light's energy. There will be a series of five to eight treatments depending on the area and the condition of your skin. Treatments take between 15 and 30 minutes and are administered in the doctor's office.
Photo Facial IPL Information
Photofacial rejuvenation is a procedure which uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to combat skin damage and restore a more youthful appearance to the skin. This procedure can be used on the face, hands and other areas of the body and can treat redness, flushing, pigmentation problems, scars, wrinkles and other imperfections.
Photofacial rejuvenation may be performed in a surgeon's office and typically takes between fifteen to thirty minutes to complete. A series of five to eight treatments are usually required. A topical anesthetic may first be applied to the skin. During the procedure, pulses of intense light are delivered to targeted areas of the skin and absorbed by the skin's tissues.
After treatment, some temporary redness, discomfort and swelling may occur. In rare cases, patients may experience temporary blistering and bruising. There is virtually no recovery time and patients are usually able to immediately return to their normal activities. Though redness may occur, this can be easily covered. The results of photofacial rejuvenation are long-lasting. A skin care regimen may be followed at home to help maintain the results, and a touch-up procedure may be performed if necessary after two or more years.
The potential complications that may occur with photofacial rejuvenation are as follows: infection, loss of pigmentation, pigmentation changes, and scarring. |
