Dr. Alvin Glasgold was a pioneer in the field of plastic surgery. In 1961, he graduated from New York Medical College, followed by specialized surgical residencies, including one in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. With years of surgical experience, he achieved board certification from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) in 1982, highlighting his expertise in facial plastic surgery. Dr. Alvin Glasgold was a founding board member and examiner of the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery (ABFPS) and was at the forefront of open rhinoplasty in the 1980s, a technique that revolutionized the field.
