Revision Rhinoplasty Update – Dr. Robert Glasgold
Patients are frequently referred to the Glasgold Group because of prior disappointing outcomes. New Jersey revision rhinoplasty can be a more complicated procedure; previous surgery may have included excessive removal of supporting bone and cartilage, loss of tip support, and or/twisted nasal structure, along with scar tissue. Each of these issues presents a greater surgical challenge than a primary rhinoplasty.
Our technique involves precisely replacing missing structure and repositioning cartilage to produce a nose that is aesthetically pleasing in both size and shape. Surgical skill and extensive experience also allows us to reduce an overly long nose and/or correct an excessively drooping tip. Your new nose should appear natural, well shaped, and in proportion to your face.
Additional Revision Rhinoplasty Information

Good candidates for revision rhinoplasty include patients with a history of one or more rhinoplasty procedures that have resulted in unsatisfactory results.

Procedural times tend to be longer than revision rhinoplasty procedures which can take about one to two hours to perform. Either general anesthesia or a combination of local anesthesia and sedation may be used. For some procedures the incisions are confined to the inside of the nose, which is known as closed revision rhinoplasty. Other procedures require an additional small incision between the nostrils on the underside of the nose, known as open revision rhinoplasty.
What Happens After A New Jersey Revision Rhinoplasty Surgery
After revision rhinoplasty surgery, a dressing is applied to the nose job. Nasal packing is not required, resulting in a more comfortable recovery. Some swelling and light bruising can occur, and the nose may be achy or stiff. The dressing will be removed within about a week and at this time most patients are able to return to work. More strenuous activities should be avoided for two to three weeks and activities that can jar or bump the nose must be avoided for eight weeks.

New Jersey Revision Rhinoplasty: The Perfect Nose Should Look Perfectly Natural
The practice of Dr. Robert Glasgold located in New Jersey attracts patients both nationally and internationally. He sees patients in consultation from California, New Mexico, North Carolina, and other states regularly, as well as patients who fly in from England, France, India, and Russia, to name but a few countries. Dr. Robert Glasgold has a distinguished reputation as a premier facial plastic surgeon specializing in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. He can help you achieve a result that will complement your features or, correct poor results from previous revision rhinoplasty surgery.
The hallmark of excellent revision rhinoplasty is a natural-looking nose that complements the face rather than dominating or overwhelming it. “Most people are coming in with a nose that is out of proportion with the rest of their facial features. Patients are often very conscious of how others perceive them and want to change the appearance of their nose, but are concerned that their nose will look unnatural or even “out of place” after surgery.” I emphasize that the nose after facial plastic surgery should blend with their facial plastic surgery features to allow the other aspects of their face to shine through,” says Dr. Robert Glasgold.
During the initial consultation, Dr. Glasgold will talk with you at length about what it is you want to achieve, he will use computer imaging to give you a realistic idea of how your nose will look after plastic surgery and show you results achieved on other patients (we always get patient consent to show their pictures).
